Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are a rare comedy pairing. Starting out as a Spillar funnyman / fall guy to Owen's straight coolness in the superb Meet the Parents and Zoolander, in Starsky and Hutch they move up to a new level of comedic equality; with Owen playing preposterously on his good looks, and Stiller admirably wallowing in short-man syndrome. The film's plot ambles along in a turgid and graceless manner, but god it is funny. It's all down to Stiller and Owen's chemistry; and a hilarious cameo from the charismatic (and shockingly thin) Snoop Dogg, who's terrible acting just makes him all the cooler. Like all the best comedy films, repeat viewings reveal subtle jokes missed before, and others have timing and flare that make them funnier second, third and fourth time around. It doesn't pull any punches either - Owen has a threesome with Stiller's girl, a pony gets machine-gunned, there's cocaine in-jokes, and Snoop handles his weapons with a confidence that belies his real-life suspected murderer status. Whilst in a way the film itself is poor, this is all about the three leads, and is very, very funny - which is what counts.

I went to watch this movie with my mates, and i can honestly say it was very very funny, and some scenes were incredibly funny. i thought i had to get the DVD and am pleased to say its just as funny the first time i saw it. The DVD comes with loads of extra features including interviews, out takes, deleted scenes and a lot more. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson work great together in their all movies, and it would be great to see these two in another movie, becuase i dont think they could have picked a better partnership. this is an excellent movie of 2004 and at a great price here at amazon.

Any one that says this film is not worth watching needs a personallity transplant!! Ben & Owen make a great double act, and even the "starsky strut" returned to the screen!! It was funny with a story line and huggy bear is way too cool!! Nobody touches the bear!! I was really un sure about the film thinking it would be too much a boys film!! Ive seen it twice with my hubby and cant wait to but it on dvd in July!! Its different to the original tv series as the characters seem to have swapped personalities with Starsky being the serious one and Hutch being the rogue type. If you havent seen it, WHY NOT!!! "JUST DO IT"!!!!

The latterday Ackroyd & Belushi return again.This is a non-stop gag-fest which doesn't fall flat until, like a lot of comedies, the final act. A great homage to the TV series and the times. The DVD features a rather disappointing which amounts to a few outtakes and on-set soundbytes. The commentary by Phillips is engaging but I was disappointed by the exclusion of a Wilson/Stiller commentary.

This was a trully great film. it had just the right balance between action and comedy.
there was never a boring part of this film it kept you entertained throughout.i was a bit unsure of snoop dogg playin a part in this movie, i thought he could ruin it. but he played his part superbly and comically.
i went to watch this movie with a group of friends and not one of us thought it was bad in any way.
owen and ben play great parts in this film, i had expected a good partnership after the success of zoolander.i cant wait to get this film in july, it rocks!!
