TOP MODEL WITH HEART RATE MEASUREMENT

Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars Great value for money   September 29, 2009

If you are looking for a wireless cycle computer with a heart rate monitor, then this could be the unit for you. It is a simple, but very capable unit. It doesn't have a cadence sensor or allow you to download data to a PC, but it does the job and is about half the price of the competition. It is great value for money.

It was easy to set up and seems pretty accurate compared to the distances measured with other units. I like the large display and the fact that it is straight forward to switch between the HR and distance functions - just a single push of a button switches between the two modes.

This unit will work with coded senders which means that you can set it up to automatically detect two bikes and change the settings automatically (you would need to purchase a second coded sensor to achieve this). It then records distance and time for the two different bikes as well as the total distance and ride time. Another neat feature is that the computer, the sender and the chest strap all use the same type of battery (CR2032). This was handy since when the unit was supplied BOTH the computer and sender had flat batteries - it would have been nice if Amazon could have made sure this wasn't the case, but I guess it had been in storage for a while.

I have a couple of reservations about the sender - it seems like a very large physical unit and it is attached via a rubber band. But we will have to see how it survives out on the trail.

Update: June 2010. The elastic bands are still going strong and no problems with them at all. I have just bought the second DTS sender unit for my road bike and it works a charm. It automatically detects the change of bicycle and adjusts the wheel size to fit. You need part 405 which is the second sender unit. It comes with a second mount and a wheel magnet, so it has all the bits you need for a second bike. Search the Sigma Sport website for UK distribtors.

All in all, it is a great value unit. Recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Product description error   September 3, 2010

The item seems very good so far and is relatively simple to set up.

I like the mounting options available and all the items seem to be well made.

The only thing I do not like is the product description, as it is incorrect, it states that the computer records temperature and altitude, it does neither of those. The main reason I purchased this cycle computer was because of the HRM and altitude, but it does not have altitude.

4 out of 5 stars Good but not a large range for supension forks   January 26, 2010

Great little product, easy to use and set up but had difficulty managing to get the computer to receive the signal from the sensor because it only has a range of 45cm and that just about reaches the top of my wheel, barely my spokes.
